Popular music and podcasting streaming service Spotify is now available on the Epic Games Store as a free add-on. Listed under “Spotify Music,” you’ll be able to easily add the app and access your curated collection of music for streaming during a gameplay session. Or better yet, you can listen to podcasts such as GameSpot After Dark on the platform. Much like the original app, Spotify can be used in a free mode to listen to content with advert support, but subscribing to a premium account will unlock better ad-free functionality.
This is just the first of several other non-game applications that will be added to the Epic Games Store in the future, as Epic works on turning its digital distribution system into more than just a hub for launching first and third-party games.
“We’ll continue to work with partners to continue to grow the store’s offerings for our players and create a more robust platform for developers,” Epic said.
