NZ Highschooler wins regional tournament with his team playing in the hospital hours after surgery.

A student at Rangitoto college was unexpectedly forced into a lung surgery and had only a few hours to prepare for the finals which he played from his bed off the hospital wifi.

I played in this comp and have to say that it is amazing the dedication some of these players have.

Brian Yu lead his team to not only the NZ title but they are also set to play in the transtasman final on Oct 20th after sweeping a couple of the Australian state regional winners (Cant remember exactly who atm). Some of these guys will end up in OPL for sure.
