Left 4 Dead 2 Gets A New Update Almost 11 Years After Launch

It’s been almost 11 years since Left 4 Dead 2 was released to satiate our thirst for cooperative zombie slaying. In recent times, Valve has remained committed to the four-player shooter by pushing out security updates and bug fixes that ensure it’s still in top shape. The Last Stand is something else entirely, however, marking the first new content for the game since 2012’s Cold Stream.

Like that release, The Last Stand is also a community creation that Valve has approved as an official release. It doesn’t have a release date yet, and the announcement is light on details, but Valve has confirmed it’s coming soon via an official blog post.

“It has been many years since the infection first hit. Radio silence, no sign of life, nothing but lingering hopes… CEDA is not going to save us,” the blog post says. “But there is hope! A few brave souls have continued the fight against all odds, and soon we can all benefit from their resilience.”
