Disney’s live-action Lilo & Stitch movie, which has been in the works for years, has seemingly found a director. Variety reports that Crazy Rich Asians director Jon M. Chu is in discussions with Disney to direct the film.
It appears to be very early days for the film, as the report noted that Disney has yet to hire a writer or any cast. Additionally, the company has not yet made a call about releasing the movie in theatres or on Disney Plus, the site said.
The 2002 original Lilo & Stitch is a much-loved animated Disney film that follows a little girl and her sister who take in an alien–Experiment 626 AKA Stitch–who is programmed for destruction.
